New Blood Interactive is giving their acclaimed throwback shooter DUSK a new update as part of their “never ending quest to keep updating DUSK until the end of existence”. The new update will not only give players a new throwback HUD a la Doom, but also a weapon wheel, an overhauled world map and more.
First is the stuff that’s available now, which includes the ability to now delete your saved games (if you choose to, obviously), as well as have the option to continue your game after polishing off an episode instead of backing out to the main menu. Last on the small additions is a Max Loadout button that saves you time clicking through your loadout sliders.
On to the bigger incoming stuff, which includes a redone world map and loadout menus. This is all part of the upcoming Switch port (which the team says is coming), and just makes things easier to read and navigate.
Once the Switch port is out the door, the PC version will receive the weapon wheel and classic HUD. New Blood is also looking to implement Steam Workshop and co-op support to DUSK, as well.
Finally, the team also elaborated on the recently-announced DUSK ’82, a throwback to action/puzzler games like Chip’s Challenge and Sokoban. Essentially, it’s DUSK, but you solve X bite-sized levels inspired by the above-mentioned classics. You’ll also be able to make and share your own levels, which can even be copied and shared as a simple text string! DUSK ’82 is marked as “SOON” (as usual), but you can wishlist it on Steam today.
