It’s undoubtedly a bummer that The Last of Us Part II has been delayed indefinitely, but that hasn’t stopped someone from leaking footage from the game. Though it’s certainly not what you’d expect: Ellie and a completely playable guitar.
The gameplay clip had leaked onto YouTube on Friday (with the channel covid19 being the source). Sony was quick to have the footage deleted, but not before someone was able to upload the footage elsewhere.
The clip in question runs around two minutes in length, with Ellie starting out in bed, then travelling through the backstage of a theatre. She then comes across a guitar leaning against one of the seats, where she then sits down and begins playing. The cool thing is that Naughty Dog appears to have programmed a pretty comprehensive guitar gameplay section.
Different notes can be selected using the thumbstick, while you can strum the guitar and play the selected notes by swiping your hand over the controller’s touchpad. Six different notes are displayed at once, but you can press the right and left bumpers to switch between different chords. It’s certainly not the horror-filled gameplay you were expecting, but it’s still pretty interesting.
The Last of Us Part II was originally set to release late in May for the PlayStation 4.
